As a Girl Scouts troop leader, I need to be first aid/CPR/AED certified so that if an emergency happens, I’m prepared to act quickly. This also means that I need to have quick access to first aid supplies should I need them. I had the opportunity to sample a My Medic Kit first aid bag, and I have to say, it goes everywhere I go. It goes to Girl Scouts. It goes on hikes. It goes camping. It goes where we travel. This is the perfect small kit for a portable but comprehensive first aid kit.

About the Company
The founders of My Medic created their company after a loved one died in a car accident where the proper life-saving equipment wasn’t available. My Medic offers first aid kits and training to prepare folks for emergencies.
My Medic offers a variety of first aid kits, supply refills, and specialty kits, including packs for CPR, a pet medic kit, and an allergies pack. Prices on first aid kits run from about $75 up to $850 for a pack filled with everything you would need for any emergency a first-aider or wilderness first-aider could treat.
What’s Included in a My Medic Kit
The kits’ contents vary depending on which kit you’ve purchased. The kit I have had first aid scissors, a space blanket, a CPR shield, various bandages, gloves, a first aid booklet, whistle, penlight, tweezers, liquid skin, antibiotic cream, lip balm, ibuprofen, aspirin, burn gel, gauze, first aid tape, and more. It is far more comprehensive a first aid kit than what one can purchase at the local drug store.
Why First Aid Training Is Important
A first aid kit is great, but first aid training is vital. One should never use first aid supplies beyond their training – or attempt first aid beyond their training. Before getting first aid certification, you could count on me to freeze in an emergency. Since I’ve been certified three times, I’ve got a handle on things and can act quickly should something happen. First aid training is essential so you can act quickly when needed.
My Experience Using My Medic Kit
I was pretty impressed by the number of supplies included in such a compact case. Since receiving the kit to review, it goes everywhere that I go. As you can see from the photos below, it has everything an individual might need in an emergency. The only thing I’ve had to replace so far is the bandages – I keep an eye on expiration dates and double-check everything before a big event like an adventure day, traveling, or camping.
I Recommend My Medic Kits
I recommend My Medic kits to those seeking a first aid kit that includes everything you might need for outdoor adventures. They are pricier than what you will find in your local box store, but they’re worth it for having all the supplies you need. Because it’s so compact and lightweight, it’s easy to toss into a backpack or tote bag – or even a duffel bag – without compromising room for other needed supplies.
