What is OffLimits & Chamberlain Coffee’s DASH Cereal?
OffLimits teamed up with Chamberlain Coffee to create a cereal for those who love a good dark roast – and dark chocolate. OffLimits Dash Coffee Cereal contains caffeine, which gives you an extra boost for focus. It’s also vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. The cereal is made with dark chocolate and actual bits of ground coffee. Chamberlain Coffee’s Social Dog Blend is the flavor used.
What I thought about Coffee Cereal
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect going in with tasting DASH Coffee Cereal, but I’m very glad I did. The cereal is everything you’d want it to be – flavorful, sweet, and filling. I enjoyed it with almond milk, which let the coffee flavor stand out. The cereal also had hints of graham cracker and brown sugar to it. It wasn’t overly powerful, and it stood up really well to the milk. The crunch was really satisfying, and the cereal didn’t get soggy at all between the first and last bite.
I also love that the cereal gives you an extra boost of caffeine, especially these days when my toddler is working on her molars. It helps me to be a little less zombified throughout the day and I do feel that it improved my focus.
About Offlimits Cereal
“We’d never put you in a box. Boxes are for cereal.” This is the phrase greeting potential customers both on the website and on the shipping boxes from OffLimits. The brand prides itself in breaking the rules – cutting out artificial ingredients and flavors, bringing back a playful vibe to a health-conscious cereal audience, and making use of a variety of vegan ingredients.
Founder, Emily Elyse Miller saw a need to combine the best of what cereal has to offer – a playful vibe and nutrition. Cereal with toys tends to come with a ton of sugar, preservatives, and flavor, but not a lot of health benefits. Conversely, the healthier choices tend to come in plain, functional boxes, with no toys, and not a lot of flavor. She wanted to create a cereal that combined the best of both worlds.
In addition to creating a cereal with fun, flavor, and health in mind, the OffLimits brand is dedicated to giving back to the community. 1% of all procedes on regular boxes goes to youth art programs, with 100% of the profits from the company’s limited edition art box series going to the artists.
Other Offlimits Flavors
In addition to DASH coffee cereal, the company has three other flavor offerings and Cereal Glitter in addition to the types of toys that made Saturday mornings fun. What is cereal giltter, you ask? It’s edible glitter that enhances the fun of OffLimits Cereals – sprinkle some over your cereal while making a wish, the company says, and if the milk turns blue, your wish might come true.
The other three flavors are: Spark Strawberry Cereal, Flex Cinnamon Cereal, and Zombie Pandan Cereal. Pandan is a Southeast Asian plant, with flavors of vanilla and coconut. It’s a fun green color – like the zombies that hunt for brains.
If you like Thai iced tea, you’ll really like it. I enjoyed it a lot. Spark is extremely flavorful and tastes just like strawberreis. Flex was really good as well. All four of their cereals did not overpower you with flavor and would be good with fruit added to round it out.
