Today’s post is a guest post from Emma Wood, author of Just Be You as part of the RABT book tour.
My Top 10 Favourite Books
Even though I haven’t been an avid reader for that long (I started making it a priority in 2016), I do love to read, and I think I am pretty varied in my choices too.
Here’s my top 10 favourite books that I can remember reading, in no particular order (because that’s just too difficult).
- Room by Emma Donoghue. It’s not often you get to see into the mind of a five-year-old. It’s fun! I didn’t think I was going to like it. I very quickly changed my mind.
- Memoir of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions, and the truths that are always conveniently hidden. This was one of those stories.
- Profit First by Mike Michalowicz. Money can be a scary and confusing topic to talk about and learn. Mike explained everything like he was talking to a child without making me feel like a child or a dummy. Because of this book, my finances are now organized, and I feel confident.
- Before I Go To Sleep by S J Watson. There are so many twists…and so much guessing. I did not see any of it coming!
- Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell. I have read many of Lisa’s books and have never been disappointed. She is probably my favourite author. The first page hooks you every time and you just can’t put her books down. They get you guessing the whole time. Sometimes you’re right…and sometimes you are just so wrong! Brilliant. I’m currently reading I Found You.
- Millionaire Success Habits by Dean Graziosi. I love learning by example and this book is full of them. There’s lots of questions too, to get you immediately applying these habits to your own life.
- Atomic Habits by James Clear. There’s so much to learn about habits and this book makes it easy. It was a great way to end my year. It would be a good way to start your year too.
- The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley. This book made me cry. I love reading books where each chapter is someone else’s perspective, so you can see all sides of the story. This book did just that.
- #GirlBoss by Sophia Amorusa. I’ve read it once and watched the movie twice. I just love seeing and hearing success stories of those that started with absolutely nothing. It gives us all hope.
- Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I’ve been told that I live life through rose-tinted spectacles. This book was so full of love and positivity (apart from one tiny little section). I couldn’t stop smiling. It was as sunshine and rainbows as you can get…so far!
