This is Post 1 of a 31-Day Blogging Challenge hosted by the Ultimtate Blog Challenge.
It’s been a bit since I’ve updated this blog, much less this site – and the site update is definitely on my to-do list as a lot has changed in the past couple of years. The biggest news this year is that baby five is here, she’s three months old, and I’m just starting to get back to work on my various projects after maternity leave and being put on bedrest due to preeclampsia.
The pandemic has left me feeling like I’m moving through molasses. My big kid has moved out for graduate school – a very welcome development after his battle against COVID-19 and all of the complications he experienced from long COVID, resulting ultimately in the removal of his gall bladder after the virus destroyed that organ.
So what have I been up to? Outside of taking care of the four younger kids and gearing up to homeschool again this year, I’ve been working on simplifying my life. That involved letting go of (at least temporarily) Activism My Way, Ronda B. Boutique, SNARK! Magazine, and the work I was doing with J.B. Dondolo and with the Arthritis Foundation.
Earlier this year I edited an amazing book – Ila’s War by Cindy Entriken. I’ve been working still with managing a variety of social media accounts, including Sofilantjes Patterns’ Instagram account. I published a number of articles at Moms.com. I’ve still been writing for Midwest Fashion Week. I’ve also been ghostwriting posts for a restaurant and a couple of industry leaders.
Needless to say, it’s good to be back, and I’m excited to be undertaking a blogging challenge that will have me creating a post a day for 31 days.
What have you been up to?
