It’s National Boots Day. Who doesn’t love a great pair of boots? They don’t have to be just for fall and winter – you can totally make boots work for you in the spring and summer if you play your cards right. A great pair of Cowgirl boots can be just what summer ordered – especially since prairie dresses are back in style. Bring the look into 2021 with a cropped denim jacket in a coordinating color.
While you can make taller boots work, ankle boots and booties are more comfortable in the summer – especially if it gets hot and humid where you live (I know it does here in Kansas!).

Is There a Difference Between Ankle Boots and Booties?
While some may mistakingly use “ankle boot” and “bootie” interchangeably, they are actually two different styles. The biggest difference between ankle boots and booties is the height. Booties hit right at the ankle and ankle boots typically come up a few inches above the ankle.
Not only will they offer different looks for your summer wardrobe, but ankle boots and booties may work better for some styles than others. Just like skirt length, different bootie and ankle boot lengths will boil down to personal preference. Brighton Keller actually has a super-helpful chart for what style is best for which kind of outfit. For example, ankle boots work great with skinny jeans or leggings tucked in. Booties are super-cute when paired with rolled skinny jeans. You may still want to play around with some different styles before you decide which will work best in your wardrobe.
Who is Lane?
Lane Boots have been around since 2007. They offer high-quality designer boots that have been inspired by the western look. I firmly believe that a great pair of western-style boots are an essential part of everyone’s wardrobe – but I also have a problem: I wear a size 11 or sometimes 12. Lucky for me, Lane Boots goes up to a size 11!
Each pair of boots is made by hand and each has a one-year warranty. The great thing about purchasing high-quality boots and shoes is that you can take them to a local cobbler for repairs if the need arrises.

The Chloe Bootie in the dusty tan is a great choice for spring into summer outfits. This bootie has floral embroidery and is easy on and easy off. It’s perfect for your spring dresses and is versatile enough to go along with your denim shorts and skinny jeans.
The Mesilla Ankle Boot is super cute for summer (and notice how it will hit higher on the leg). I love this ankle boot for summer because it still has that western look while also keeping your feet and ankles cool in the heat – I know I can’t be the only one who can’t stand having hot feet! These would be fun to wear with a floral dress and crochet cardigan.
If you’re looking for a really versatile bootie that you can wear with denim or sundresses, the London Secrets Bootie fills that order. I love this bootie – the details are really cute, and it’s not over-the-top “western” so it can go with a lot of different spring, summer, and even early fall styles. How cute would this boot be with a floral blouse and denim skirt?
Fringe is big this season, and these booties deliver on the trend. The Archer is a great style for those wanting sandal-like booties for the summer. They’re definitely a great accessory for outdoor get-togethers. They also come in turquoise and blush. They’re great for adding a pop of color to your favorite summer outfits.
Finally, if you’re looking for a great classic bootie with some cute details that will be your year-round companion, the Buckshire High Heel Bootie fills that need. Wear with a black mini, white tank, and floral kimono in the summer and then with black jeans, turtleneck, colorful cardigan and statement necklace in the fall. These booties dress up or dress down, making them an investment piece that you’ll get much use out of.
Just because boots are typically associated with fall and winter doesn’t mean you can’t find cute ways to wear them in the summer and spring. In honor of National Boots Day, how do you style your booties and ankle boots in the summer?
